Our Thoughts

I wrack my brain in efforts to fill you in with what happened since I wrote last:

************

*Corrie and I splurged on our girls’ night on a full body massage for an hour and a half (20USD). The masseuses were amazing although I couldn’t believe they walked on our backs.

*We discovered “Paul”, the French bakery on Huai Hai Lu, new kid on the block since last May – a delightful upgrade from the Christine experience. My first real café à la française in Asia.

*We ordered chicken and it came out tasting like hacked pork.

*Andrew and I ordered takeaway using our basic Chinese to get a poor pizza back to our “Yan’ AN LU” road and got blank stares back. Hmm, we’d better work on that intonation, sweetie.

*Went to our local 'wet market' and absolutely loved it! By their faces, they loved seeing a foreign face there too!

*We ordered chicken and it came out looking like hacked beef.

*We at last visited the Bund, the main landmark and realized what people meant when they referred to glitsy Shanghai!

*We ordered chicken and it tasted TERrible.

*Oh yes, how could I forget. We were initiated to the Settlers of Catan Friday night game night, well, we were admitted to the toddler’s group at least. 16 players + three games going + great food at Chris & Corrie’s. A lot of fun indeed and a great way to meet peeps our age.

*I think we'll stop ordering chicken.
