Our Thoughts

September 29, 2007
Mr. and Mrs. Brumme
At 2:22pm on Saturday the 22nd of September, the moment arrived at last. It was a chaotic week leading up to the big day (not to mention the 4 months of engagement), but under an hour later…we became Andrew and Esther Brumme. We made it through giving our own wedding message, consecutive English/French translation, sharing our own vows, and even the surprise chef Arnaud-turned-ring-bearer went off better than we could have hoped.

We have now been married exactly one week, and we are a week into our honeymoon on the Italian island of Sardinia. The reality of being “Mr. and Mrs. Brumme” still hasn’t hit us. Our thoughts are still reeling from the overwhelming blessing of celebrating the beginning of our marriage with friends and family from around the globe. Our Father in heaven reminded us throughout the day to simply receive. We were humbled beyond belief at the way it seemed that all of our jet-lagged guests rolled up their sleeves to help post signs or setup chairs before even unpacking their bags.

There is so much more to say, and this simple post serves only to say a strong public THANK YOU to all of our dear friends and family for blessing us so richly on the big day (including those of you spread around the globe!). Many more thoughts will follow, and perhaps most exciting of all, you can expect many photos thanks to photographer Greg Allen. A sampling of his photos from the day were shown in a rough slideshow at the reception, and we were literally near tears in the way he captured the day with such artistic grace (not to mention the special photo shoot of my radiant bride)!

We’re off to catch the end of a beautiful Sardinian sunset before dinner, but more will come once we fully recover. Thank you again to all – our God has, once again, proclaimed His faithfulness to us loud and clear!

Update: Greg has now posted an incredible slideshow of photos from the wedding weekend on his website: Greg Allen Photography. THANK YOU GREG!
