Brumme's Descend on Europe
Within days of our engagement, my family arrived in Europe for a 2 week blitz through France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany.

The trip was a wild adventure in every way, beginning even before the family boarded the plane headed for Europe. Both my parents' passports were held up in excessive delays at the passport office. They literally picked up their passports 2 hours before the scheduled flight!

The adventures continued with lost baggage, airlines on strike (thank you Italy!), missed hotel reservations...and throw in an asthma crisis for my brother TJ and you've got the Brumme family adventure in Europe!

But, the trip certainly had it's high points. Seeing the breath-taking Mont St. Michel on the coast of France, visiting the Normandy landing beaches, traversing the picturesque streets of Paris and (the less-picturesque but oh-so-historical) streets of Rome were all fantastic experiences.

The whole family (fiancée included) also got to spend a few days in my beloved Heidelberg, the place where both my brother Joey and I had spent a year studying. It was my first introduction to Europe, now nearly 6 years ago. Who would have thought I'd fall in love with a girl just hours away? It was great to take the family to the Heidelberg staples - Vetters, Gino's and beyond!

Add in a few day trips in our own backyard here (Geneva, Lausanne, Annecy) and you've got an all-round good time.
But the time was made complete only when Esther's dad returned from the U.S. the day before the family left, allowing the families to enjoy an evening together for the first time (but certainly not the last!).

We're all exhausted, but no time to stop with a wedding on the horizon! Onward!
